Overview
Geo AR Games developed the Smart Canning app for the City of Canning to educate the community about water quality through augmented reality. This geolocation-based game guides players around the Wharf Street Basin, offering insights into microclimate sensor data and its impact on water quality. The app features six distinct environmental science games activated by metal frames around the pond, teaching players about pollutants, human impact on waterways, and aiding native animals in their quest for food.
Each frame provides an immersive experience, starting with an interactive 3D map that helps players navigate park amenities. Players can embrace the role of a motorbike frog in a jumping game, explore the habitat, and engage with the Gould's wattled bat in a flying game. The app also includes an interactive water quality scene, fostering a deeper appreciation for water conservation. Smart Canning combines entertainment and education, empowering the community to advocate for their local environment.
