Cat Angels Triumph
Challenge
Cats don’t come with instruction manuals. One in 25 will go missing in their lifetime, and more than 70% of cats that end up in shelters have no microchip. Add untreated illnesses, accidental litters, and owners unsure what to do in a crisis, and you have a recipe for heartbreak. The challenge was how to reach people early and give them the confidence to act before disaster strikes.
Solution
Developed with cat advocate Anne Batley Burton, founder of The New Zealand Cat Foundation, and veterinary advisor Dr Elsa Flint, Cat Angels Triumph is a free browser game that plays like part emotional drama, part survival guide. Players step into real-world scenarios such as a missing cat without a microchip, an accidental litter, or a neighbour frustrated with cats in their garden, and make tough decisions. Each choice has consequences, teaching microchipping, de-sexing, and responsible care. Cat Angels Triumph is more than a game. It’s a way to save cats’ lives.
Positive Impact
Since launch, thousands of players have taken part, with a storyline completion rate of 58.8% compared to the industry average of 20 to 30 percent. Players describe the game as fun yet emotional. By allowing people to make mistakes safely and reflect on the outcomes, the game builds real confidence for when life throws up challenges. Free, shareable, and recommended for ages 13 and up, Cat Angels Triumph is reaching new audiences worldwide. Its impact has been recognised internationally claiming Bronze at the 2025 Serious Play Awards.
