Magical AR Christmas

Challenge

Holiday activations are a great way to bring communities together, but councils and community groups don’t always have the budget to organise something extra for Christmas. When they run a Geo AR activation in December, they want a simple way to add festive cheer without adding to their workload.

Solution

As a free add-on for clients running Geo AR games, we provide a set of four AR posters that turn any space into a digital Christmas hunt. When families scan a poster with the app, the augmented reality attaches to it and springs to life in 3D, as if Santa, elves, or reindeer have stepped out of the picture. Kids can play mini games like decorating a Christmas tree or helping Santa deliver presents while dodging obstacles. The posters can be displayed indoors at community centres or outdoors in parks and along trails. Clients can also add their own logo and custom text outside of the trackable area, making the posters into a local initiative.

Positive Impact

These four posters make it simple and cost-free to add a sprinkle of Christmas magic to activation events. By mixing technology with holiday spirit, they encourage families to get outside, explore, and celebrate together. Councils and community groups also receive printable Christmas cards that families can take home as a memento or post to friends and relatives, extending the festive fun beyond the event itself. The posters and cards offer a fun, no-fuss way to engage communities and pair perfectly with bigger Geo AR games like Magical Park or Captain Green.
