Not every award-winning game involves epic quests or alien worlds. Sometimes, it’s about the pets curled up on our laps.
Cat Angels Triumph, developed by Geo AR Games with support from Cat Limited, has been honoured with a Bronze Medal at the 2025 International Serious Play Conference. The judges recognised it for blending storytelling and education to tackle some of the toughest situations cat owners face, from lost pets to tricky neighbourhood disputes.
What sealed the win? One judge summed it up: “Very nicely done overall! The greatest strengths come in the adorable assets and consistent style. The 3D assets and mood of the game makes the experience feel really engaging. As a cat owner, I love the way the learning goals are presented, and I think you give a really great overview of how decision-making directly impacts the results and meets your learning goals.”
Players aren’t just entertained. They’re challenged to make choices that mirror real-life dilemmas: searching for a missing cat, stepping in when neighbourhood pets clash, or handling the heartbreak of illness. Future episodes take on even tougher topics, from abandoned kittens to everyday struggles like giving medication.
What makes it stand out is the expertise behind it. Veterinary advisor Elsa Flint and Anne Batley Burton of The New Zealand Cat Foundation ensured the scenarios were authentic, practical, and empowering.
Cat Angels Triumph shows how games can do more than amuse, they can change behaviour, build empathy, and protect animal welfare.
